Table 36 Cigars Cocktail Table Lime-A-Rita After a long day of hanging out with the family at the pool, I want to have a little me time.  So as the wife starts reading the kids their bedtime stories, I sneak out to the deck and grab a Table 36 Fellowship V58.  And being a little beat up from the day, I grab a Bud Light Lime-A-Rita.

The Bud Light Lime-A-Rita is basically a cocktail in a can.  It is actually a lager product, but it tastes like the margaritas mom used to make.  Being an ex-bartender, I used to make a habit of throwing a little beer in my margaritas to kill some of the bitterness from the sour mix.

Directions:   Just fill the glass with ice, pop the top, pour into glass, and drink – salt optional.

So I light up a V58 – knowing that this small commitment will have me going through 2 – 3 drinks.  What won’t I do for research?  I kick start that big ole cigar and she lets loose of a huge cloud of smoke.  Ahhh, I’m going to enjoy this smoke by itself for a few puffs.  Pepper, party of one, your table is ready.

So I grab my drink, and oh, wow…did I mention wow.  Now I am no margarita connoisseur, but this is nice.  No harshness of a little too much tequila or sour mix.  Now I grab the V58 and take in another large draw.  Cedar is everywhere.  It seems as though the sweetness of this Lime-A-Rita has subdued the pepper, and the cedar notes run wild.  This is now a great medium smoke after a day of being beaten up by the sun.  This is just what the doctor ordered.

At the 1/3 point, I am really enjoying the cedar and have noticed some earth tones.  The burn is even and the draw is phenomenal.    I say goodnight to my kids and tell the wife I’ll be awhile.  I get the look.

About 2/3 thru, and the earthy flavors have finally overtaken the cedar.  I cleanse my palate with a drink of water just to make sure the cigar is still spicy – and it was.  On most days I might want a little more pepper, but tonight that might throw my core temperature sky high.  I lost that battle today, and don’t need it right now.  Right now is just for winding down, collecting a few random thoughts and enjoying a nice pairing of what are soon to be 2 St. Louis classics.

If you are looking to subdue some of the fullness of the Table 36 Fellowship, then definitely try this combination.  Not only does the Lime-A-Rita tone down some of the spiciness, but it also enhances the mild flavors.

Let me know what you think…
